Work crews

Weekly and monthly stays for crews

Many of our guests are temporary workers: power line crews upgrading lines across East Texas, pipeliners, welders, and oil field hands working jobs on both sides of the state line. Traveling carnival and show crews stay here too. The Triple T Amusements crew, which runs the Marshall Chamber of Commerce Carnival, stays at Timberline when the carnival comes to town, usually in late winter or spring and often again in fall (dates vary). A week runs $190–$220 and a month runs $470–$570 in site service fees, with power, water, sewer, and WiFi all included. Book stays of up to 3 weeks online. Call 903-930-6640 for monthly stays or several sites for a crew.

Sci-Port Discovery Center (820 Clyde Fant Pkwy) has hundreds of hands-on science exhibits, a planetarium, and Louisiana's only IMAX Dome theater. It's closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The Shreveport Aquarium is just down the riverfront. Across the river, the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City has outlet shopping, restaurants, a Bass Pro Shops, and a cinema.

History buffs can tour the Barksdale Global Power Museum, just inside the gates of Barksdale Air Force Base, which displays vintage bombers such as the B-17 and B-24. Bring a government-issued ID to enter the base. The Shreveport Water Works Museum, an 1887 steam-powered pumping station and National Historic Landmark, also houses the Shreveport Railroad Museum.

Closer to home, Caddo Lake State Park sits between us and Shreveport, with bayou paddling and pier fishing. Marshall has its own calendar too: the FireAnt Festival on the second Saturday of October, AKC dog shows at Marshall City Arena, and ETBU Tigers football at Ornelas Stadium. Shreveport also hosts Mudbug Madness at Festival Plaza every Memorial Day weekend.
